How to make your lipstick last longer?

Processed with VSCOcam with f2 preset

No one likes to apply their lipstick only to have it wear off in a couple of hours. We spend so much time applying our makeup and how bothering it is when we reapply lipstick every few hours.Personally, I hate it when i see that my lipstick is fading out, that’s why I found alternative ways of extending the time my lipstick last. I thought I would share it with you guys. To avoid clown mouth, follow these quick tips and tricks to make your lipstick last longer.

1)Exfoliate – This is the most important thing you can do for your lips as this removes all the dead skin from your lips leaving new skin cells to grow in their place… A gentle exfoliator will smooth over the flakes that come with winter’s chapped lips. For a perfect lip scrub, mix 3 tsp of sugar with 1 ½ tsp of any oil u like and little bit of honey.

2) Lip Balm – Before beginning to apply your makeup put on a lip balm of your choice. Try a long-lasting chapstick : This will helps your lips to get moisturized and keep them from looking dry and cracked. Then wipe off any excess lip balm. Now your lipstick will go on smoothly.

3)Use Conceal – Like using a base on your eyelid before shadow, putting concealer down as a foundation before lipstick helps the color to stick and set to your lips.

4) Lip liner – By lining the outer lines of your pout, a barrier is formed so your lipstick can’t get out the edges of your lips. Once the lips are lined you are going to use the same liner pencil to fill them in.

5)Lipstick – Now it’s time to apply your lipstick. One of the things that will help your lipstick look it’s best is to use a lip brush to put on the lipstick instead of applying it directly from the tube.  Using a brush allows the color to really get into the lip and helps it stay longer. Dip the lipbrush into the lipstick and pack the color onto the lips to get a sort of stained effect. Now take a tissue.

6) Blot –  After you apply the first layer of color with your brush, take a tissue and lightly blot your lips to take off any excess oil and product.

7) Apply – Translucent Powder. Once you’ve blotted away excess oils from your lips, use your finger to apply a translucent powder over your lips to set and seal the color. By using a powder, the lipstick is less likely to slip or fade.

I hope this was helpful!!
