The Designers Carol Lim and Humberto Leon love to surprise us and present an unexpected and stunning Kenzo show with one of the best productions and runway set ups. This time the creative directors made us discover the new collection as the models were walking off digitally moving platforms. Gigantic white arches were stacked on the runway, and painted with the shades of pink and peach that recalled the sun-washed architecture of Mediterranean towns, such as Portofino in Italy. Once you see the runway, you get the summer vacation vibes.A work of Art.
Kenzo addressed how a well-traveled, modern woman can put some of that feeling into her everyday wardrobe. Actually, it is a nomadic brand so you gotta have The Traveling Vibes. In fact, the collection was an approach to summer dressing. From the flaunting maxi knits, geometric inspired minidresses & the updated 90s bodysuits that were paired with printed miniskirts.
And my favorite thing about this collection was the twisted fanny pack, which is another ’90s favorite, and the military colorful style, with three small pouches on a waist-cinching belt. Now for the accessories that were absolutely astonishing and creative: ornate chandelier earrings and bold necklaces. Furthermore, Kenzo offered in this collection a makeover to the clich “ Gladiators Sandals” and came up with ankle-strap gladiator sandals with spiky reflexology foot beds put the skin-baring, printed looks on a fresh footing.
