Elie Saab RTW FW16: Rhapsody

Last week, we just wrapped up another Paris Fashion Week concerning ready-to-wear collection for Fall/Winter 2016-2017. Are you ready to see next winter’s trends? That’s why let’s start interpreting and reviewing thse collections. Starting off with *drums rolls* ….. you guessed it :ELIE SAAB. This Paris season, however, has been notable for its relative lack of eveningwear. Even though we were used to see a lot of  evening gowns at Saab’s collection, this time it is different. Saab is most definitely going through a reboot: The Saab Women is grungy, bohemian and casual.Black dominated most of the collection, without forgetting the presence of red, purple, white and sky blue. Again, we saw a lot of new motifs and elements in his designs. Lace was definitely the most used fabric in this collection: it was intrigued in each piece, in different ways and colors. New twist for evening gowns: flowing sheer dresses accompanied with pearl embellishment and bohemian influence. Stunning!!

In addition, I got my eyes on a masterpiece: I called it masterpiece because have you ever thought mixing red and purple together? Well, the king Elie Saab did it and in a very elegant way! _LUC6834Beside these marvelous dresses, can we talk about another masterpiece by Saab: The Jogging Suits? He seriously took the jogging suits into a WHOLE new level. Yes, for lace hoodie and embroidered slim-fit jogging pants.

More and more, we fell for these rompers and jumpsuits with capes. Now, remember last season’s floral bombers, we spotted in this collection biker jackets with pretty flower sculptured paillettes and leather fringed jackets.

Before I talk about accessories and shoes, I must say that Elie Saab saved the best for the last : Kylie Jenner closing the show with a stunning leather embroidered bustier dress. That was a perfect ending._LUC7186

Though the years, Elie Saab never gave up on the belt. It was and still a necessity in all of his designs. But this time, it was a REAL belt that you usually wear with your ripped jeans, worn on dresses. And you blame me why I call him a GENIUS? Furthermore, 90’s trends are making their comeback and Saab involved this trend in his collection: Most of the models wore studded chokers and some tied a light scarf which looks like a choker. Finally, the most fall-ish pieces were: Wide hats, fringed bags and over-the-knee boots. I will never get tired of saying : Chapeau Ba Elie Saab
