After adopting an exaggerated theme and décor in so many shows, Karl Lagerfeld kept it calm. . There was neither immersive set nor overt theme. In fact, it was a mirrored circular runway inspired by the famed Art Deco mirrors of Coco Chanel’s stairs at her atelier on the Rue Cambon. Nothing can distract you from enjoying the real Chanel Haute Couture feeling. “I wanted something impeccable, clean. I wanted the girls to look like walking fashion drawings,” said Karl Lagerfeld, adding, “And I must say, I love feathers!”
Basically, Karl always works on innovating the Chanel Suit: this time he focused more on tailoring , contradictory to many other designers nowadays. He knew how to mix between the tradionnal Chanel cut and his new touch. We saw the Chanel suit in candy pastel colors: mint, pink, peach, lavender and yellow with emphatic neckline and an 80’s wide belt.
The rest of the collection was all about black and white and sparkle: long flowy glittery dresses with feathers cuffs or hems, sequined dresses over sheer pants, evening slim dresses.
