Christian Dior : Ready-to-wear FW17

dior

Paris Fashion Week just kicked off.  I have to admit that Maria Grazia Chiuri is succeeding at being Dior’s creative director. At first, the Valentino vibes were always at her couture shows. Then she started to illustrate a unique and new image of Dior though her imagination.” I wanted to speak about the Dior heritage but I also wanted to speak something about me “ explained  Dior ‘s female creative director, backstage at the  Musee Rodin, talking about her second ready-to-wear collection.  (more…)

Trend Alert: Windowpane Print

Window-TreatmentWhat gingham is to Spring, windowpane plaid will be to Fall. The hatched print is going to have a major moment in a season filled with buffalo plaids and tweedy tartans. The wide windowpane checks in smart black and white feel more sophisticated than the rest and have thusly been placed on everything from trench coats to evening gowns while still looking right at home on slouchy cool-girl separates.

Trend Alert: Over-the-knee Boots

Back for another run, the over-the-knee boot is threatening the knee-high boots status as fall’s staple boot. On the catwalk, they look effortlessly stunning and easy to pull off, nonchalantly paired with a micro mini or a floating dress, cut up to the thigh. In real life, they’re a little trickier to wear: they make a statement , (more…)

Versace Haute Couture FW16: Mixed Feelings

Another Paris Fashion Week is done. It is the Time for a review. So let’s start with Versace: It was all about mixed feelings. Some things I liked and some I didn’t.  It was weird if we can say. First of all, it was supposed to be a Fall/Winter collection so we didn’t expected to see many summery colors:  But it was all about dusty pastels, bold colors like yellow and hot pink and gray. I really like glass runway paved over hundreds of mauve, purple, and green orchids.  This collection was a softer version of Atelier Versace. That’s what Donatella declared backstage. It shows The Festival/ Coachella Girl by Versace.

Mixing colors💛💙💜💚

Hello ladies!! Who said fall/winter time is made just for dark colours? Who said you cant wear popping colours ? Who said you cant go crazy by mixing colours? As I , Manale Hassan, tell you that you can. I know it may sounds weird & you will be surprised but yes. So, in today’s post, we will be talking about mixing colours. I will give me bunch of tips about it. Before starting, I should clear up something for you, that 2 colours always match if you match them right.
1. Keep it familiar:
Which means, wear pastel with pastel or earthy tones with earthy tones. So you don’t end up looking like a christmas tree😹. Check the pics so you understand what i am saying.

2. Let the”colour wheel” be your reference:
Next step. The colour wheel helps a lot in matching colours. There are several rules.First, you can match two colours that are opposites. Or the colours that can form an 90 degree angle. Be aware of matching too close colours.

3. Ombré guide:
You can never go wrong by wearing one colour from head to toe. The trick is, wear in an ombré way for a better look. Get some inspiration from the internet.

4. Necklaces, bags,scarfs etc…
Everything colourful , every print or fabric you see is an inspiration for mixing colours. I advice to check out Zara’s and bershka’s necklace for some inspiration and Celine ‘s tricolour bags.

5. B&W is always the key:
When in doubt and if you are not a brave person to wear colourful outfits , wear black and white and add a pop of colour.
