Giambattista Valli Haute Couture SS17

untitled-1Giambattista Valli decided this time to pick his couture inspiration from the reality of life. He dropped the fantasy of haute couture. Valli cited the inspiration as a girl who is traveling, unpacking and found her clothes from being stored in a suitcase. Guests arriving to Raf Simons’ Dior show entered through a mountain of blue delphiniums shipped in to decorate the Dior tent. Once you entered, you will find yourself in a white expanse of a space: shiny floor and tented ceiling.There was Raf Simons backstage, talking about keeping things simple and quiet: “I feel like doing something calm, calm and beautiful and sensitive and romantic, I didn’t want to embellish. So I was thinking about the South of France—rainbows and the simple things. And there’s a bit of Victoriana: something of that film Picnic at Hanging Rock. Elie Saab SS16: Young & CareFree Attitude

“Elie Saab is repetitive, same designs, same inspiration, same embroideries, bla bla bla…” Well, Saab has showed radical changes in his recent collection: In his Fall/Winter 2015 Ready-to-wear collection, he wanted the “Elie Saab” woman to look strong, fierce and confident. He adopted a military & edgy style. However, for SS16 collection, Elie Saab said backstage: “It’s not different, it’s the same. But the mix is different.”  “ I wanted to introduce a woman who takes the codes of the House and feels free to portray them in her own way” Summing up , The ELIE SAAB woman, this time, is young & free in her wardrobe and style.
